And we learn about his intense desire to make a name for himself as a singer, not as a musician. It's all here...but it's all real." In 1964, Joe Jones was recruited by The Rolling Stones who were looking for someone to sing lead on their first US tour. Jones replaced Bobby ten years before in 1957 after Mick Jagger married DeeJay Adams. Jones would be part of the original line up until Brian Jones' death in 1969 and would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Rolling Stones in 1989. After leaving The Rolling Stones, Joe began a solo career as a singer and songwriter, recording five albums with Decca Records between 1970 and 1976. He also recorded tracks for the 1972 film "Cocktail", as well as some sessions for Italian artists such as Fabrizio De Andre and Gianni Nobile. Joe Jones passed away on March 15, 2008 after his illness and multiple health problems that were made worse by heavy drug use.
