It is a debut film of Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj, Soni Razdan and Yami Gautam.The movie switches back to the past where three college friends are struggling to find their dream careers in Delhi - Anjali (Prakash Raj), Manish (Rajat Kapoor) and Arun (Soni Razdan). They share a small flat in Kalkaji area which is notably occupied by other students, who are constantly bothered by the trio. Their lack of money becomes apparent when they rent out their spare room to Parveen (Razina Khan) for two months when she arrives in the city looking for a job. The trio begins to plan their future in the big city, but are determined to get along with their current financial situation. When they unexpectedly come into some money, Arun reveals that his uncle - the villain of the film - has saved Rs 6 lakh for him. The three plan to find their dream job in Delhi and save enough money to pay off Rs 6 lakh due by the end of the month. Evidently, time is their enemy. They work hard but struggle with petty issues like college fees and rent. Manish manages to get a job in a call centre while Anjali gets an internship at an international company called 'Lysander'. But their dreams seem to be unachievable. When Parveen arrives at the house, the trio realizes they have not earned enough and must borrow money from their friend and landlord - Mr. Kapoor (Piyush Sahdev). However, one of the major causes of their problem is that they do not know how to save money. Arun decides to buy a car with his money, but even there they fail. They decide to rent out an extra room - which starts becoming a huge problem as Arun's uncle arrives with his family and student son for a month stay in the flat without informing them. Money continues to become more and more difficult for them as it is revealed that Mr. Kapoor has failed to pay the school fees of his daughter. And when things get out of control, the trio decides to ask Arun's uncle for money, but he refuses; making their financial situation worse than ever. Abruptly, Anjali's employer's company goes bankrupt and she loses her job. Arun is kicked out of his call centre because he is unable to pay the registration fees on time while Manish loses his job at a restaurant after he returns late; missing an important order.
